The unusual sight of a crested Korhaan revealing its crest

Days 1 - 6: Ecosystem orientation. You will learn about the building blocks of the ecosystem including how geology and terrain influence flora and fauna; how grasses, trees, birds, insects, and mammals are uniquely adapted to their environment. During these first few days, theory lessons in a class room setting are followed by guided walks to see and experience everything in its natural ecosystem. These walks are conducted in areas that are not home to dangerous animals.

After learning the basics, the course moves to the Kruger National Park to get to know multiple habitats and experience the entire range of animals including dangerous animals like hippo, elephants, rhino, buffalo, and the big cats. Participants will test their knowledge when they are tasked with interpreting and presenting what they see to the group.

The course will be housed in a tented camp and will conduct daily walks and drives. As well as broadening their experience of the bush, course participants will be asked to interpret what they see for the benefit of the group.
